Areas per crop

Twice a year, the BKD publishes a survey of the cultivated surface area of flower bulbs and flower tubers being grown in the Netherlands, this area being measured in ‘ares’ [Note: 1 are = 100 m2]. These statistics are needed by trading companies so that they can assess what the supply of the various crops will be. They can then use this information to coordinate their purchase & sales strategy.
